Director of Improvement and Delivery

Recruitment

Welcome from Kevin McNamara, Chief Executive

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, our organisation provides services for the local communities of Gloucestershire and beyond. We hope you find the information we have prepared about the role interesting and informative, and that you enjoy learning more about this exciting role, our Trust, our vision, our achievements, and our challenges.

We are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our patients and the communities we serve. We understand the importance of building strong relationships with our staff and communities and the positive impact collaboration has on the health and well-being of local people and delivering healthcare services.

We are extremely proud of the dedicated staff that work across our hospitals and communities. Over the last five years they have been leading the way in meeting the challenges of the pandemic, the impact of the current cost of living crisis, and delivering our ambitious five-year strategic plan to transform our services.

We are on a significant journey of continuous improvement, and we know that we have much to do. Whilst we are proud of our successes, such as the ongoing work of our ambitious £100m-plus capital investment programme, we know we need to ensure that our organisation is characterised by an inclusive culture and compassionate behaviours. We are committed to being a great employer where all our staff feel they can bring their whole, diverse selves to work, add value, and really make a difference.

We continue to work hard and to ensure our approach is to ensure we put our staff and communities at the heart of what we do, building inclusively so that we are able to listen to a wide range of views and experiences. Over the last year this has meant there has been a clear impact in improving how we work as a Trust and our culture, as well as improving access to services and building community relationships.

It’s important to us that staff and local people help design, develop and improve services by sharing their views and experiences and that these voices reflect the diverse communities we serve. We know that many people are often not heard and we are working creatively to reach those who are too often ignored or their views not sought.

This is a critical leadership position, which comes at a time of continual change and system reform in the NHS, including the recent development of Integrated Care Systems. We are excited by the opportunity this presents to support greater collaboration between health and care partners across the NHS, Local Government and the Voluntary and Community Sectors.

At this exciting time of transformational change for health and care service we are seeking an inspirational and values-led leader who keeps people at the heart of everything they do, and who can bring their leadership to an organisation which is ambitious, wide-ranging, understands its challenge and has already made good progress.

If you want to hear more, then we would love to hear from you, and hopefully you will find this website informative.
